Twelve years ago today, I started this blog. It was prompted in large measure by my unhappiness with the 2004 election results. Boy, look how much things have changed!
At the time, the ground was thick with bloggers about national issues. I thought maybe I’d focus on the State of Indiana. My productivity has ebbed and flowed, and my focus has wandered. Look at my Indiana Bicentennial digression. Some years I felt like I had the General Assembly under a microscope. Other years, I feel like I barely paid attention. I attribute the relative longevity of my blog to my willingness to let the quantity and focus of my blogging ebb and flow.
In any case, I’ll be interested to see where year 13 takes us. If you’re still reading: thank you!

Does this mean you are happy with the 2016 election results. Or was that sarcasm. :-)

BTW: As with everyone else, congrats on sticking this out for 12 years. I hope to continue reading your blog for another 12.

Sarcasm! I’m horrified by the potential implications of a Trump Presidency. I think he’s uninformed about policy, doesn’t care about details, and doesn’t surround himself with competent people who could inform him of the details even if he could be bothered to sit still long enough to consider the implications of particular decisions.
