David Hoppe has an article on Judge Hamilton in Nuvo entitled “Deciding Controversy.” Hoppe discusses Judge Hamilton’s decision in Bosma v. Hinrichs which enjoined the Indiana House of Representatives from conducting sectarian prayer as official business of the state. However, he did not discuss the matter with Judge Hamilton. Instead, Judge Hamilton mainly discusses his experiences as a judge and his approach to the law generally.

Doug, newly retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor spoke to this point Thursday at Georgetown University. She discussed issues like the Bosma Prayer Case and, more to the point, the Sodrel proposal. Nina Totenberg of Nation Public Radio did a great story about Justice O’Connors remarks. The gist of her speech was the Republican efforts to limit the jurisdiction of the courts removes a bulwark for freedom and might even be a slippery slope to dictatorship.
