As long as they don’t occur within the continental United States they don’t count.
Seriously, by some estimates 130,000 men women and children have been killed in Iraq since our invasion. 130,000! That’s not even counting all of the maimed and wounded. But all that matters to most Americans is the 3000 we lost on 9/11.

I feel like this so called “War on Terrorism” has nothing to do with Saddam Hussein or Bin Laden or any other “agents” of terror. It’s about the ol’ country boy Bush who has deep family ties to the oil industry.
Besides that, the people of the world are tired of the US trying to be the world police. It’s not our job to do that and in return, citizens of the world are telling us to get out of their countries. Does Bush listen to them, of course not, so they kill our troops and tell us they want to try to stand on their own two feet. But since Bush has economical ties to that region, he won’t leave under the name of Promoting Democracy.
A true promotion of Democracy would to allow the people to decide what kind of government they want and allowing them to run it the way they want to. This will keep our citizens safe and will allow us to focus our money on home affairs such as health care, poverty rates, violence and the shambled education system.
