Yesterday, the Daily Pulse focused on Indiana. The DP suggests, among other things, that the GOP may get hoist on the petard of homophobia in the wake of the Foley sexual predator scandal upon which Congressional leadership sat and did nothing.
The piece cites:
- A Trib Star editorial commenting on the desire in the Eighth District on the GOP desire to tie the race to national party issues and what a bad idea that might have been post-Foley.
- A Chesterton Tribune editorial on the evils of one-party rule.
- A Noblesville Daily Times piece on tax exemptions, churches with political axes to grind, and the IRS.
And much, much more.
Phillip says
We have decided to vote for Brad Ellsworth in the 8th district race.We were going to vote for Hostettler because of his strong stand on illegal immigration but at a meet and greet for Dave Crooks Ellsworth stated he supports the House Republicans position which is border security first. He also stated he does not favor a guest worker program.
The Indy Star article today 10/10/06 about Republicans in the Indiana state house wanting to get tuff on illegal immigration seems interesting considering they had a chance last session and did nothing. Now that they are probably going to lose their majority they are looking for votes. While I agree with them I and no one I know are going to help give this Governor any help in causing more problems in this state (DST,Toll Road) and now wanting to strip mine our fish and wildlife area Glendale 8000 acres (they want to mine 1000 acres) Public meeting this week on the issue.
So Crooks and Battles all the way as far as State Reps in this area!
More on the Glendale situation. In a guest commentary in Saturdays Washington Times Hearld which is strongly against any mining in Glendale it discloses the fact that the company doing the exploratory drilling(Black Beauty) and some of it`s executives donated $300,000 dollars to guess who??Our pal Governor Mitch Daniels.Need I say more.
Word around here on the street is about 75% against this idea.Of course they want to give us a bunch of land 3000 acres for our 1000 acres in Glendale .This is reclaimed land in Sullivan county which is 60 miles from here according to the commentary in Saturdays Times Hearld. To this most of our residents are saying no thanks!!
