The Associated Press reports that most Hoosiers favor bringing the troops home from Iraq within the year even if civil order is not yet restored there. Meanwhile, John McCain was in Indianapolis calling us names. If you support a timetable for withdrawing the troops, then you’re in favor of surrender according to the Senator. According to McCain (and I paraphrase), Congress should just shut up and pay for the war.

Calling us names? I missed that part of the article you linked to.
Yes, if you think a timetable is the answer, then you do support surrender. That isn’t calling names, that is fact. A timetable says that by X time, we are done fighting regardless of the situation.
If that is your position, fine, but don’t call it name-calling. It is just fact.
I thought this part of the article was insightful:

Funny… surrender used to mean things like handing over your weapons, submitting to becoming prisoners of the victor (or not, at the victor’s discretion), etc. Disengagement, which is what is being proposed, is not the same as surrender. It isn’t surprising that so many conservatives (generally lacking military service) get this wrong. But I don’t know what McCain’s excuse is.
