The problem is the GOP’s got a washout at quarterback, no line, a banged up secondary, etc. They don’t have the talent, but the coaches think yelling loud motivational things will be the ticket to ride.

The metaphor kind of fails as soon as he mentions the quarterback – this only works metaphorically if Bush or Cheney are running.
But, ’tis fall, and the psychic demands of football WILL NOT BE DENIED!

The Democrats are not much different, really. The frontrunner – Hillary – has been on the Senate since 2000, not yet a year into her second term. She has many years’ experience of “standing by her man” where she may have seen a lot of things, but she didn’t have any actual power (other than influence, which I suppose is worth something). Obama hasn’t even served half of his first term, and Edwards served only one term in the Senate.
There’s a lot more governing experience on the Republican side.

They’re sort of like the Norv Turner of politics.

Hey, I just said they had experience. I didn’t comment on what kind of experience it was. ;)

Does anyone really believe that Hillary was just sitting on the bench watching and waiting to be put in the game? Frankly, I think she’s already been the defensive coach (stand by your man) as well as the overall strategist. And Senators cannot make laws by themselves, so I assume she’s been good at rallying the troops and good pep talks.

So does that make Larry Craig the tight end…or the wide receiver;)
I know…bad pastor!

Larry’s claiming to be a tight end. But the routes he’s been running are clearly those of a wide receiver. Like Dallas Clark, if we were talking about football…

Please review your main column. The text is getting lost along the right margin under other columns.
Thanks for having an interesting blog.

Anybody else having this problem? The display on my Firefox looks fine.

For my standard width monitor, the page first appears fine until the right hand column (Search, Filthy Lucre, etc.) resets to “fit” the page.
The right hand column width must be too wide for my monitor and it seems to have a priority of some kind over the center column. You could make the right hand column narrower, but if it’s just me, then it’s too much trouble.
Sorry I don’t know more about HTML, maybe it’s just my monitor.
