I ran the Lafayette YMCA’s Pumpkin Push 10k. On the down side, I was last place for 36 – 40 year old males. On the up side, I ran my best 10k time – 59:30. My time for the Flora Hog Jog in June was about 1:02:00. So, a 2.5 minute improvement. Not bad considering I haven’t been running much lately or really doing much in the way of cardio exercises. My wife, Amy, kicked ass with a time of 1:00:52 which was about 8 minutes better than her Hog Jog time.
Regardless of the times, it’s always nice to get out with a bunch of people, run a little bit, and snag a new T-shirt.

New T-shirts are always great. Glad to see that you’re being healthy and bucking our state’s trend of eating too much tenderloins. I’ve got a ways to go, but I’m getting better. Going to the Y sure helps.

Definitely. For me I think the good thing is that I no longer view exercise as a chore. I honestly like doing it. Now, I’d like it a lot better if I could find a reasonable hour during the week to do it. I really hate getting up at 5:30 a.m.

Um, why were you running in the 30-35 age group? You are older than that!
Doug says
Fixed.
