Former Representative Dick Mangus (R-Lakeville) has passed away. He served 32 years in the legislature and retired a couple of years ago. I don’t have any details as to the particulars of his death, but he was an esteemed public servant and will be missed.
Dick had a little “museum” behind his house in Lakeville, where he displayed dairy-industry collectibles of various types. But he was missing one item: old glass milk bottles stamped “Mangus Dairy,” which of course was the family dairy when he was young.
If you ever find one at a rummage sale or elsewhere, I’m sure Dick will smile down on you from the other side.
