There is a lunar eclipse tonight. It started at about 8:45 p.m. (EST) and will continue for a couple of hours. Apparently it will be at its fullest at about 10 p.m. Here in Lafayette, we have a nice clear sky. At the moment, it just looks like a smudge in the lower left hand quadrant of the moon. Good stuff.
Ben says
Uh…..whydit git so dark?
Doug says
God ate the moon. He was mad about the gays.
Brenda says
Hey, thanks for the heads up. It is really incredible.

The eclipse is the only possible explanation for what Bill Crawford did to the property tax plan today. Unreal.

I was driving home about seven and thinking the moon sure was bright. About 9:45 I looked up while letting the dogs out and was like, “Cool, lunar eclipse!” Otherwise, would have missed it.
It’s not often that the sky is clear this time of year, so we got kind of lucky.
If our military-industrial complex could have arranged to shoot down that spy satellite right next to the fully-eclipsed moon, then I would have busted out the lawn chair and popcorn for that one.

It was pretty cool watching the moon get eclipsed over Monument Peak in Milpitas, CA.
Still think it would have been nicer to watch it back home with my wife, though. :)
