Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been more or less cut off from the Internet since Monday. I’m in Florida – initially to take a deposition, but yesterday and today are just me and the family enjoying a little sun and sand. Presumably the General Assembly is doing something more or less momentous. I guess I’ll catch up when I get back.

Did you see that the Spackmans sold Indiana Beach?
Do you remember that Congressman Buyer used his whole $14 million allotment in a transportation bill to build a better road to Indiana Beach (he was explicit about the purpose of the road)? I remember hearing some guy who was running for Congress say that the whole purpose of the allocation was to enhance the price of Indiana Beach, because the Spackmans (big contributors to Republicans and Buyer’s campaigns–also contributions wrung from IB employees) wanted to sell. So, federal money was once again used to help private corporations.

Lily,
See, there, now that’s the Free Market at work.
Those Democrats just want to steal your money!
Vote Republican and keep your hard-earned dollars!

Lily,
I’m not sure your claims about the Spackmans hold water. A search of campaign contributions shows that Tom Spackman has contributed $3100 total to Buyer since 1994 (some of which may have been in the form of fundraiser tickets, golf outing tickets, etc), and only $5700 total (all of the rest to Lugar, except for a $200 NRCC contribution) in that same 14 year span.
