Amy & I ran in the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” in Indy; to raise money for finding a cure for breast cancer. There was a huge turn out – something like 40,000. Some knucklehead Catholic out of Lafayette urged boycotting the race — apparently there is some tenuous connection to Planned Parenthood, though not in Indiana. Somehow Amy & I managed to ignore the injunction. It was rainy and about 60 for the race. Good times.
Update The results are out. I finished in under a half hour which I suppose is my basic goal. I only wish I’d turned on the gas just a little bit at the end. I was #667, and if I’d finished 0.4 seconds faster, I could’ve had the sign of the beast. In light of my comment about the Catholic bishop, that would’ve amused me.
