A bit of good news: The state won its appeal to the federal government for flood aid.
Thirteen northern Indiana counties that sustained damage to city- or county-owned buildings and other property because of flooding in January and February became eligible for federal assistance Monday after FEMA reversed a previous decision.

I guess somebody at FEMA realized Mitch Daniels might need a few votes from those counties this fall after the royal screwing he gave them over the Toll Road.

Yeah, now if they’d only help Nappanee which got a rejection from FEMA because their claim was too small…..
“A total of 137 homes had major damage and 201 had minor damage from the storm. A total of 107 businesses sustained damage, including three recreational vehicle plants that are among Nappanee’s largest employers.”

Branden…Let me get this straight, The feds turn down the aid, so Mitch does his job and goes to bat for the counties and get’s the decision reversed and the money flows in.
