Jordan Crawford announced that he won’t be playing basketball for IU either. That makes twelve players who started 2007-8 who won’t be at IU for 2008-9. Kyle Taber will be the leading returning scorer, at 1.5 points per game.
Others to leave IU since the end of last season include Armon Bassett, Jamarcus Ellis, Eric Gordon, Eli Holman, Brandon McGee and DeAndre Thomas. Seniors D.J. White, Lance Stemler, Mike White, Adam Ahlfeld and A.J. Ratliff, who quit the team for personal reasons in January, are also gone.
Maybe this coming season will be college basketball versions of Necessary Roughness or Major League. But, I’m guessing it will just be long and filled with an above average number of losses.
