Twitter is my latest addiction. At first I didn’t get it, didn’t see a use for it, then gradually it grew on me and my tech addiction took over, and I’ve become a Twitterer. You can get real time updates from other folks in the country by going to http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23ike.

Glad you posted this to the blog. I was wondering if you could write more than 149 characters at a time lol.

I would recommend this link:
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=ike
since the use of hash-topic tags isn’t as widespread as it could be on Twitter yet, and a lot people are mentioning Ike without the hash. Just an FYI.
Thanks!
Chris

I was a Facebook user before Twitter, so I keep my status updates on there. It has the same update ability as Twitter, but I don’t know who was first.
While I don’t put anything on that Internet that is totally private unless it is encrypted, I do like that there is some privacy in Facebook.
Besides, who but my friends will really want to know that I’m stuck reading my PDA on the john because of Taco Bell? Come to think of it, they don’t want know that either, but I want to tell them, ’cause that’s the kind of friend I am!

Wow, I knew I was self-centric, but… I really have no interest at all in what my friends are doing/thinking at any given moment (let alone total strangers). I sooo don’t get it.

I think someone described it as “ambient intimacy.” One thing it does is just let you keep up with the relatively inconsequential things that make up most of our friends’ (and our own) lives. It also allows for low key conversation at a distance.
So, for me, it seems like it’s allowing me to keep up and strengthen some friendships with folks who live too far away for me to keep up with, day to day.
