Wow, the Texans just choked that one away. They had the game won with a 17 point lead with like 4 minutes left to go. The Colts drove and cut the lead to 10. They tried an onside kick that failed.
But then, instead of just being happy running down the clock, the Texan’s QB, Rosenfels, decided to go for a heroic run with 3:50 left on the clock only to fumble, allowing Gary Brackett to run the fumble back for a touchdown.
Then on the next possession, the Rosenfels got the ball stripped with 2:42 left, and the Colts scored again.
It was something like 21 points in 2.5 minutes. Reminds me of that Tampa Bay game a few years back.

I turned it off at 27-17 with the failure of the onside kick. I should know better.

Best comeback since that Monday nighter 5-6 years ago against Tampa Bay. Looked pretty hopeless at 27-10. This was a fun one to watch to the end. Sorry, Rusty! (Btw, how are you, pal? It’s been a while!)

Looks like that Tampa Bay game was 5 years ago tomorrow – 10/6/03.
In that one, they were down 35-14 with 4 minutes to go. So, on that one they had to score 21 points to tie. This one, they scored 21 points to win.

So why can’t the Cubs win like that or any other way?.. assuming baseball has an equivilancy.
Thomas Kemp says
Mike – That was no comeback – That was a give-away. Colts defense looked as poor as ever, but the genius of Rosenfels created an incredible new quarterback play – I’ll call it the piñata (or “El Piñata”), where you run an jump into the air so successive defenders can try to hit the ball out of your 1 handed grip – out it came, just like candy.
Oh, and I remembered yesterday why I decided that #87 was the best player on the Colts last year.

They said it was the second biggest comeback in the timeframe, second only to that game in Tampa Bay. That’s a nice reminder in a trying season like this just how lucky we’ve been for the last few years here in Central Indiana.
As to the Cubs, I really can’t believe, after a 97 win season, that it ended on October 4. Postseason baseball is a crapshoot, but the Dodgers absolutely dominated the series. It’s definitely worse than last year, when just making the postseason was unexpected. It definitely doesn’t hurt as much as the epic collapses in 1984 and 2003, as far as Cubs postseason chokes go. Still, going out like that with the 100 year anniversary on the line is going to sting for a while.
Doug says
Great, now I have LL Cool J in my head bellowing in my head, “Don’t Call it a Comeback!”

Hi Mike
Doing well, @ HSE Utilities now. The economy took out Falcon.
One more try at HD39.
Never give up on the Colts.
