News out of the People’s Republic of Texas (or whatever Rick Perry and the secessionists are calling it these days) is that a 7-year-old boy died Saturday morning after a Liberty County couple opened fire on him and three other alleged trespassers. The picture of the property in the story reinforces so many stereotypes, it’s amazing. First – the Confederate Flag is flying. Whenever you see a symbol of Treason in Support of Slavery, you know good things are going to happen. Next – the sign: “Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will.”
There appears to have been a family outing on a nearby river. The families parked on a county road in a subdivision near Dayton, Texas where the men of the families were, apparently, committing the heinous crime (time honored though it may be) of peeing next to the road in the dark. Sheila Muhs, property owner, ordered the group to get their vehicles off the property then opened fire and blew out the windows of the vehicles. They boy was killed. His 5 year old sister and father were injured but not killed.
In fairness, Indiana is not without its share of idiots misusing guns to hurt kids. The Indiana case, at least, was a bit of potentially lethal celebration. In most ways, that’s more forgivable than the callously reckless acts of a selfish, misanthropic asshole which seems to be the Texas situation.
Speaking of misanthropy, I really hate people some days.

To me, it’s pretty clear from the sign that these people got some guns and then just sat around waiting for an excuse to shoot someone.

Check out a local gun show some time. There full of good ole boys like the Munshees. You’ll also see plenty of confederate flags and Nazi memorabilia. Sense a theme here? I remember watching a 60 minutes piece on the simple accessibility of guns at these shows about a month ago. There was a big swastika in the background and they never even mentioned it.
The next war will be pretty hard on the Nazis. Their team has lost the Japanese, and replaced them with the Confederates. They’ll be too busy fighting over uniforms (olive drab, camo, or butternut homespun?) and haircuts (shaved, or mullet?) to get around to causing any real trouble.
Settle down boys, there are plenty of crazies to go around. People with mental illnesses, and those that kill for no reason, or for very “little” reason are a dime a dozen, this just made headlines because the stereotype will sell well.
T, is it safe to say, (percentage wise) there just as many murderous nutjob doctors as there are murderous nutjob welders, farmers or lawyers?

This made “headlines” because innocent children got shot (one killed) by gun obsessed illiterate nutjobs. The kind you see at these gun shows. I wonder if you’d be so casual if it was you and your family that got shot up? Would there be a headline there?

One would usually would have to watch Keith Olberman to hear such high minded rhetoric of the ruling class and their high minded superiority of themselves and their stations in life which according to them is far superior than the unwashed masses who believe in God,the second amendment,and are pro-life. Of course Olberman,Mathews,and Maddow hang on by a thread as they are clobbered nightly by FOX NEWS IN EVERY DEMOGRAPHIC AND TIME SLOT. I’m proud to be a conservative democrat. Those who believe the republican party is dead need only look at the arrogance of the republicans just a few short years ago when they controlled all three branches of gvmnt. The republicans will be back just like the dems came back because absolute power corrupts and with leaders like Pelosi and Reid it’s a sure thing.
The one thing I know is that only the far left are allowed to protest or have a opinion on many social positions however anyone who disagrees with them tea parties,gay marriage etc is labled a biggot or homophobe.

I didn’t put the Confederate flag on the dude’s shack. If he spent the kind of effort on his betterment that he spent of his belligerent, threatening, piece of shit sign, then he might have made more of himself in life. Furthermore, it’s pretty clear from their sign and their actions that they feel their purpose in life is to feel slighted and kill in response. Fuck them. I think that’s what I meant to say the first time.
To the gun lobby, I would say police your own selves. I own guns. But I wouldn’t hang out some place where the Nazi regalia is celebrated so much, or the treasonous attitudes. It tends to make them look well-armed and nutty. It tends to make those who associate with them not appear that great either. That’s just me. I’m sure opinions vary.
