The FBI has apparently arrested a right wing radio host and blogger by the name of Hal Turner. Mr. Turner apparently made threats against 7th Circuit Court of Appeal judges in conjunction with their decision in the case of NRA v. Chicago.
Internet postings [by Turner] on June 2 and 3 proclaimed ‘outrage’ over the June 2, 2009, handgun decision by Chief Judge Frank Easterbrook and Judges Richard Posner and William Bauer, of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, further stating, among other things: ‘Let me be the first to say this plainly: These Judges deserve to be killed.’ The postings included photographs, phone numbers, work address and room numbers of these judges, along with a photo of the building in which they work and a map of its location.
Talk about your misplaced anger. Reading the opinion gives one the distinct impression that these judges may well have agreed that the Second Amendment should be incorporated through the Fourteenth Amendment and applied to the states. However, they felt constrained to abide by Supreme Court precedent refusing to incorporate the Second Amendment. The Seventh Circuit judges noted that the precedent was old and might well be ripe for overturning, but that it was not their place to do that. It was up to the Supreme Court to do so. In other words, they appear to have refused to overturn the Chicago handgun bans because the Supreme Court had not yet given them the green light.

Hal Turner is a fascinating guy – he was, at least at one point, a paid FBI informant spying on other supremacists. The SPLC has been monitoring Turner for years, and had a complete rundown on the arrest.

All you need to know about Hal Turner is that he got his ass handed to him by Anonymous. When they take your ass down, Hal, you’d best stay down.
