The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette has an editorial entitled Workforce training. It addresses Governor Daniels’ plan to consolidate and centralize Indiana’s 16 regionally controlled Work Investment Boards into 11 boards controlled by Indianapolis. The Journal Gazette acknowledges that there may be some economies to centralization, but points out that the folks in Indianapolis don’t necessarily have a good grasp on the needs of the workforce outside of central Indiana.
But, then again our Governor isn’t one to pass up a power grab when he sees the opportunity.
