While I think every day should be Patriot’s Day, Rep. Baird’s HB 1061 would set the day as April 19 to honor patriots and conduct suitable exercises having reference to the contributions and sacrifices made by patriots of Indiana and the nation.
Patriot’s Day is apparently recognized currently by Massachusetts, Maine, and Wisconsin and commemorates the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord (April 19, 1775). The Boston Marathon is run on Patriot’s Day every year.

As opposed to Patriot Day, which apparently is another name for September 11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Day

When every day’s holy, every day becomes profane.
I don’t have much opinion on the merits of Patriot’s Day, but just had to get in an oblique dig at protestants, including those living on the whiff of an empty bottle.

Is it really called Patriot’s Day? Grammatically, that implies there is just one patriot being honored. For more than one patriot to be honored, it should be called Patriots’ Day. But my real question is: Who defines “patriot” and thereby decides who will be so honored? In my mind, I know who qualifies (I tend to be more inclusive), but not all would agree with me.
