Woke up this morning to see a Twitter statement retweeted by one of our state representatives saying, “the only thing government really ever successfully produces is dependence.”
I will ponder that sentiment today as I drive on the public roads through the adequately drained countryside to my job which involves asking state judges to interpret and enforce contracts.
Ben C says
Adequately drained, eh? And that’s how I know you don’t live anywhere near State and 23rd.
Doug says
Exactly. You should negotiate a contract with all affected landowners and arrange to drain the land yourselves. Because government is stupid.
Carlito Brigante says
And grossly inefficient and unfair. Rather than making generally applicable rules that will apply equally to all participants to the transactions, let’s put the statist whip away and allow individuals to use their grossly varying private resources to achieve mutually beneficial results.
I am just glad to live in a country where millions of divenley favored retired folks are more intereted in preserving the aristocratic interests of a few thousand millionaires and billionaires over their own self interests in their their future Social Security and Medicare benefits.
I mean, who really wants millions of elderly Americans to buy food, shelter and medical care when these same leeches could not even save the millions of dollars neccessary to fund their own retirements.
Joe says
Is the state representative a veteran of the nation’s military, by chance?
exhoosier says
I admit it — I demand on stoplights to tell me when to drive, and when not to. I have become a government dependent.
By the way, GUY DRAWING GOVERNMENT PAYCHECK FOR BEING A STATE REP, takes one to know one.
Paddy says
Were you eating food and taking medicine with assurance of its safety at the same time?
Was this after you took a shower in clean water delivered right to your house and shaved using the overhead lights?
