HB 1536 specifies that a solid waste district doesn’t have the power to make provision of solid waste hauling services conditional on the hauler paying the district for a permit or license for the hauler’s vehicle. Apparently Boone, Crawford, and Dubois Counties engage in this practice. This bill would give them 2 years to stop. Nobody else would be allowed to start.
I know, I know. Exciting stuff. But, despite the headlines, the General Assembly isn’t all transvaginal probing and pee tests for poor people.
