According to Brownfield, Bob Kraft, legislative director for the Indiana Farm Bureau has indicated that property taxes top the legislative agenda; primarily trying to make sure that any funding is done by means other than property taxes, which its farm constituents obviously pay a lot of.
Kraft also said Farm Bureau will push for eminent domain legislation to strengthen property rights laws in the state, a bio-fuels bill, and increased broadband access for rural areas. In addition, IFB President Don Villwock said the organization would support efforts to institute a corn checkoff program in Indiana.
