Sen. Steele has introduced SB 4 which would allow “the manager of a public use airport, or the manager’s designee, to chase or take at any time, without a hunting license, a wild animal that is located on the airport’s property that contains the runway or apron.”
(Title reference is to South Park.)
This permission for unlicensed hunting joins the privilege already in place for owners and lessors of farm land to take the wild animals on the farm land as well as for kids under 13 without a firearm or bow. (Now I’m envisioning unlicensed minor/bear knife fights).

Obviously not a farmer (Doug farming now that would be worth the price of admission ;)) deer can eat a tremendous amount of corn in a farmers field.
As for an airport all I can think of is birds causing problems with landings or take offs.

Deer are vermin around these parts too. I used to drive from Lafayette to Monticello every day, and I had close calls with nearly hitting deer a few times a year.

I wonder if that includes Red-tail Hawks and Herons off the end of runway 24 at Purdue International?
Coming home one night 3 years ago, I counted more than 50 glowing eyes in a harvested corn field. ‘Round Hallowe’en, I usually see at least one Bambi squashed on 43 on my way to work.
