This might be the worst idea I’ve ever heard.
Isiah Thomas once said that the only college coaching job he’d ever consider would be at his alma mater, Indiana University, and there is a chance that position will be available before long.
Reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live commercial for “Bad Idea Jeans.”
Guy #2: Normally I wear protection, but then I thought, “When am I gonna make it back to Haiti?”

Isiah turned a good Pacers team into a mediocre team before he went off and destroyed the Knicks. Bring him to IU, and I’m just flat out going to give up on the team.

The idea is so scary that I won’t be able to sleep tonight. Thanks a lot.

…not to mention his almost single-handed role in imploding the CBA.
Boo. Hiss.

Is Isiah a secret member of the Bush administration? It seems no matter how badly he does, he’s never demoted or fired. When I see his career trajectory, I think, “Condi.”

Unfortunately, as long as Greenspan is AD, I wouldn’t put anything past him, including something this idiotic.
Jim B. says
IU needs an IU man. One that has proved he can win at the Big Ten level. One that can sit in a recruit’s living room and make the parents think that their son may grow up to be just like him. One that would be accepted by the Knight people. All it would take is a group of wealthy IU benefactors willing to buy out Steve Alford’s current contract.

I hereby nominate Dan Dakich.

He may not be thinking so favorably about IU since his son got arrested 3 weeks ago for underage drinking…..

Bird. We need Larry Bird.
Joe says
Gene Keady’s available.
Rev. AJB says
The last thing we need is Elmer Fudd;-)
On that note (retired coaches) Bobby’s available, too.
