The state budget moves out of the House and goes to the Senate where it will presumably be gutted and something completely different will be put in its place. Then the House and Senate will have to come up with a compromise in conference committee.

Okay, so granted that my insights are generally off by about 180º, where’s the whip hand? What reason does Bauer have to play ball with these guys, and what do they do without him? Shut the state down? Really? Over increases in education and a one-versus-two-year budget? Just so the Bantam Menace can look good to the luncheoneers at the Hudson Institute and the crackerjack analysts at the National Review?
Sheesh, I know Hoosiers favor the deep-fried delicacies at your average chain restaurant, but I still imagined there was some shite they wouldn’t swallow.
