The AFC South may be the best overall division in the NFL and the Colts are on top. Right now every team is a winner and only loses have been within the division.
Of course almost all the pundits are picking New England to go to the Super Bowl. Just like last year.
I still think the Colts however will be the stronger team. The reason is the Colt’s weak spots if you can call them that are primarily rookies starters like Ugoh, Gonzales and Ed Johnson and the second and third year players/first year starters which make up half of the Defense. These guys are already very good and are only going to get better.
IF the Colts can keep Bob Sanders and Rob Morris healthy on Defense so they always have some leadership on hand, then they have pile of young quick aggressive guys on they can bring on and off the field to harrass any offense. The Colts are the second youngest team in the NFL next to the Packers.
Just look at the Texans, the Colts were able to play so physical and keep their squads fresh, while the Texans were having to substitue guys left and right due to fatigue and muscle strains. Other teams are going to have a hard time keeping up.
The biggest question for Colts is whether or not Kenton Keith will be as reliable a backup running back as Rhoades was by the end of the year. We need to keep Joseph Adai primed for the playoffs. Keith looked good against the Saints, less so against the Titans and Texans. I hope the Colts can get him so real playing time soon.
Meanwhile awesome New England has lots of big name talent, but much older big names. Lots of these guys are bound to come down with injuries as the seaon wears on. They already have older players who got banged up in preseason. More of that is bound to happen when you got a team full of guys a few years away from pitching Nurta-system and Viagra. Somewhere down the line I am predicting Moss will get another one of those hamstring injuries that have plagued him in the past.
Then there is Pittsburgh, they look real good. San Diego I don’t think will get it together this year. The Chargers fans and local media idiots who screamed for Marty’s head forgot that if there was anything worse than the curse of “Marty Ball” in the Playoffs, it was what happened to those franchises that fired him. Just ask a Brown’s oops Raven’s fan.
