I thought coming into Baltimore this week was going to be a problem. The Ravens would be bitter about their narrow loss against New England last week and, well, it’s the Colts coming back to Baltimore. But, right now, it’s 44 – 13 with 2 minutes to go, and frankly, the score makes the game sound closer than it actually was. Manning and a lot of the other starters have been out since mid-way through the 3rd quarter. If Belichick were coaching the Colts instead of Dungy, Indianapolis would have about 70 points and Manning would have 6 – 8 touchdown passes.
Instead, we’ve been treated to the quarterback stylings of Jim Sorgi and a Sanders-less defense. Not sure why I’m still watching other than that I can’t help myself. Hopefully only having to play half a game this week will help the Colts rest up and get healthy during the stretch run.

Yet another reason to be proud of the Colts. Not because of all the points in the first 1/2, but because they have enough smarts and class to put the reserves in.
Like you said, Belichick would have pounded them. Dungy is smart enough to give the starters a rest AND give the backups some game time so they can be that much better if they’re called when really needed.
It also allows the other team to get SOME pride back and not kill themselves against the starters. Let them take it a little easier too so they might win the next one. Class.

There’s something else about the Patriots — they have no running game and an average defense. They’re kind of like a car stuck in 5th gear. I’m just hoping for a hairpin curve in their future.

Hey– I didn’t know this so I’ll pass it along. Al Michaels says the Colts used to be in Baltimore.

Thanks for catching that, T. I missed it the first 53 times they mentioned it last night. Then I fell asleep.
By the way, thanks again to NBC and ESPN for getting together to do what neither could have done separately: turn both MNF and the Sunday night game into cringefests.
