Fort Wayne Observed talks about “Cornhole” getting Page 1. It provides a link to a post about “Cornhole Tournaments” which has phrases like “Cornhole Leagues” and “Cornhole Doubles.”
I know that, in this context, cornhole refers to a bean bag game sort of like horse shoes. But, as it turns out, there is a little part of me who is still a thirteen year old boy at heart. I keep laughing like The Great Cornholio. Because, where I grew up, “cornhole” had a whole different meaning.

In Shelbyville in the 1950s we had cornholing too … and it’s fun!

THANK YOU! I have to hold back a snicker every time someone says, “Hey, let’s do cornhole!”. Glad to know I’m not the only one…
On that subject, I recommend the movie Daddy and Them. It is a great movie in its own right, but hearing Andy Griffith say “I just know your poor old brother is going to end up getting cornholed in jail tonight” is one the funniest moments in film.

I played this game for the first time at a picnic last summer and when it was first brought up to play “cornhole” we all had a chuckle as well, we were having visions of doing things with certain portions of our anatomy.

Funny, how a word or phrase bring out the inner mind. Cornhole is just a word and really decribe the game.. Its a sport that growing and I urge everyone of try. A game for all genders and skills. If you ever get a chance get to a Pro tournament. The game is more that putting a bag of corn in the hole… A combonation of pool, bowling and horseshoes. For thou who remember the old cornhole, Riker has a tournament especially for you.
