Just a reminder of what the preliminary USDOT proposal looked like for Indiana’s time zone. The dark grey counties are currently Central, the red counties received preliminary approval to move to Central time, the pink counties requested a moved but were preliminarily denied, the yellow counties requested a move but later withdrew the request, and the light grey counties are currently Eastern and did not request a move.

Wow, five counties moving so far? Including the economic powerhouse Perry county. Wow, glad we’ve gone through all this. For me personally (as previously stated), it will mean a few months of not seeing the sun, and less time to get to surrounding communities and shopping. Thanks Mitch.

I like the new format. I may make the switch from blogspot eventually. I’ll have learn a few things though.

Thanks. I’m sort of learning on the fly. I’ll want to change the “skin” and get my old banner up top. So far I don’t like how my “JustBlogIt” plugin with Firefox interacts with Movable Type, but there are a few alternatives I have in mind which may or may not help with that.
I need to decide whether to mess with installing and running a script which will restore comments to the archival posts. The depths of the comments I think have a fair amount of spam in them, so I don’t know if it’s entirely worthwhile to restore them. I need to get my blogroll up to speed, and there is a “pages” option up there that I’ll want to put to use — create a permanent home for some of the time zone documents, if nothing else.

I noticed a link to this post was put on the ndnation board. There is an up to date map reflecting the final USDOT rulemaking here.

I saw today, something that I thought was relevant. It was a Mickey Mouse watch with two ears on it/ one ear said eastern time and the other said standard time….Enough said?
