How Stuff Works has an article on how laughter works. It’s a pretty good read but, as always, humor becomes more elusive the more closely you look at it. Turns out laughter is wired pretty deeply into us and has all sorts of salutary effects. Oh, and kids think poop is funny.

Laughter is good, as are vacations. Got back from a nine day trip out west on August 10 to San Diego, Ensenada, La Bufadora, L.A., Vegas, Yosemite, and Frisco. If any of you ever get a chance try to get to Ensenada and La Bufadora in Baja. There is a geyserlike occurance at La Bufadora where the Pacific Ocean meets the coast. Got lots of good pics there. Driving into Mexico from San Diego is no big deal, but make sure you have a valid passport as passing back into the states at San Ysidro was about an hour and a half wait at Tijuana when we came back in on Monday, August 4. Yosemite is awesome also, I met up with a buddy of mine out there, he was mad because he didn’t have his fishing gear with him when we went through Yosemite, there are some great fishing and hiking trails there. If I’d have had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have tried to go so many places. I picked up the rental car at the airport in San Diego and returned it at the airport in San Franciso, we put about 1,500 miles on the rental car. A trip like that definitely gives you a perspective on the Western U.S.
