The Vigo County School Board is considering naming the Terre Haute North Vigo high school basket ball court, “Jim Jones Court.” I’m sure the Jim Jones who coached there from 1985-2008 was a fine person and a fine coach, but the sad fact is there is another Indiana native from the other side of the state who made the name infamous.
If they go ahead with this, they’ll want to avoid serving Kool-Aid at the concession stand.
I’m surprised, as a long-time reader of this blog, to see comedy on the blog first thing in the morning on the day of a DST-related time change.
Perhaps being back on Standard Time has lifted my spirits?
Having graduated from the same high school as the cult leader Jim Jones, I suppose can’t resist a Jonestown punchline when I see one.
