We needed a study for this?
The nation’s top lawmakers are excessively partisan, fail to hold the executive branch in check and deserve a paltry C-minus for their overall performance, according to a report on Congress by Indiana University researchers.
The Center on Congress at Indiana University questioned 39 political scientists from around the nation about Congress’ performance and came away with a mediocre impression of lawmakers.

“…came away with a mediocre impression of lawmakers.”
I may have only been awake for a couple of hours, but that is officially the funniest thing I’ve heard all year.
Happy New Year, Doug!
Manfred says
I’d say that even a “C-” is being generous.

The Iraq War, the budget deficit, Terri Schiavo, the bankruptcy bill, asshats like Inhoffe as committee chairs in charge of our policies concerning global warming… a C minus? Try, what’s lower than F? I guess the fear is that if their grade is too low, they’ll get held back and have to “repeat”.
Matt Brown says
I think we need a study to determine the merits of that study. And then, naturally, we will need a study to study the study of the study….
Doug says
And don’t forget the blue ribbon commission to examine what went wrong with the study of the study of the study.
