I’m not saying this will get him a win in South Carolina (or even second), but it can’t hurt.

Doug, you’ll be glad to know that there were Edwards people working the crowd outside the League of Women Voters legislative forum today. While the crowd was bi-partisan, I think they gathered quite a few signatures.
But then, I gathered about 30-40 for all three Dem candidates to get them on the ballot in Indiana. Most people were shocked that they weren’t on the ballot. Of course, most are unaware of the process in Indiana.
The Obama-Clinton race has siphoned off support and coverage from Edwards and SC probably has ended any hope he has. 18% of vote in his own state is devastating. Hopefully, Edwards will be prominent in any new Dem admistration. He’s just too good not to be in public office,appointed or elected.Unfortunately, Edwards has been perceived as ‘intellectual’ by many and that is a definite negative in America,even if they would agree with his policies.Obama has at least equal intellectual qualities ,but somehow his exhortatory ability in delivering speeches coupled with personal experience and his natural, at ease style before a crowd brings him to each person and out of ‘the books’.He gave a a great acceptance speech in SC.
