The Lafayette Journal & Courier has an article reporting that Maize AgriProducts Inc. has announced the selection of Benton County as the location for a 50-million gallon per year ethanol plant. That’s the latest of some serious ethanol activity in the Lafayette area of the state.
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held last month in Linden by ASAlliances Biofuels LLC for a plant that will process 40 million bushels of corn yearly. Last October, The Andersons Inc. announced it has selected Clymers, in Cass County, for an ethanol plant that also is expected to process 40 million bushels of corn annually.
