Currently only Lafayette, West Lafayette, Fort Wayne, Tippecanoe County, and Michigan City include sexual orientation and Indy and Bloomington cover sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in their nondiscrimination laws. This is needed across the state, as without home rule, even these bare minimum protected enclaves are threatened.
Sullivan is taking up where Rep. John Bardon left off. And I would warn all that Rep. Thompson tried to strip even these few cities of their ordinances with a 2nd reading amendment two years ago.
I hope this bill at least gets a hearing, although I won’t be holding my breath.

BTW: Nice to know that Sugar Cream Pie is more important than civil rights protections or jobs.
