Rep. James Lucas (317-234-9499), whose “sense of humor” about the “appropriate use of force” is not for everyone, has introduced HB 1588 which would reduce regulations on places individuals are permitted to have a firearm.
The legislation would repeal the current law making it a felony to possess a firearm on a school bus or on school property. It would also prohibit the State from restricting possession of firearms at state parks, the State Capitol, and the State Fair. The legislation also provides that “the state of Indiana may not regulate: (1) firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories; (2) the ownership, possession, carrying, transportation, registration, transfer, and storage of firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories; or (3) commerce in and taxation of firearms, firearms ammunition, and firearm accessories.”
With respect to the mace meme, Speaker Bosma said that he found it inadvisable and has spoken to Rep. Lucas about it. Lucas claims that it has nothing to do with his feelings about women and is all about his distaste for participation trophies. If he feels the need for a good laugh about participation trophies in the future, I recommend this one:

So what’s the secret?

You have to use the img src tag. (You don’t have to have “body” and “head” and all that stuff. This image was just handy.)

Thanks. Tried that in the first reply but it didn’t work as I expected.

This bill sounds like something from The Onion that shows how ridiculous and absurd state legislation can be. I wrote a note to my right wing (any other kind?) legislator and told him that I was stunned by a bill that could result in the deaths of school children. One must read the description a couple of times to fully comprehend the stunning foolishness in this thing. Does this guy leave his meds at home?

I have two 20 something kids.
And they have 3 friends dead from gunshots. Two with the guns they bought to protect themselves.
Oh, and they have one friend in prison serving 14 years for accidentally shooting and killing a 16 year girl.
Also my neighbor died of a gunshot from his own gun that he carried fr protection.
And another 14 year old neighbor who got into an argument with Mom, grabbed Dad’s gun, and shot himself dead.
Our gun culture is outrageous.
