From the Courier Press Letters to the Editor page, I learned of the perils of liberal elitists. Among other things, without George Bush standing athwart the Democrat peril, the economy could take a turn for the worse. Our taxes will presumably also be raised to give illegal immigrants social security benefits. Can mass dissolution of heterosexual marriages and forced gay marriage be far behind?
The approval rating of congress which the democrats control is lower than president Bushs approval rating now that’s saying something.Pelosi is constantly blocking(not allowing a vote)on legislation she knows will pass.SAVE ACT by Heath Shuler(D) that eventually fell only 28 votes short on a discharge petition which would have forced a vote, more drilling ect.
Yes when the republicans were in control they did the same thing.Anyone who thinks they’re is no cost to illegal immigration is woefully uninformed and not just in terms of money just ask Mrs.Bologna of San Franciso what it cost her which was her husband and sons gunned down by a repeat illegal alien felon in the sanctuary city of San Fran.This is not a isolated instance rather one of many and the list keeps getting longer.
As far as elitest go I’ve yet to see one of these presidential candidates who isn’t one.Does anyone really think any of these guys can come close to the experiences and problems of everyday americans?Most are IVY league persons some born to wealth others not so much but in the end they’re all elitest in my book who haven’t a clue about the problems of everyday life for many americans.Most try to come across trying to be all things to every special interest group there is.The best presidential candidate and later president in my lifetime to come across as understanding everyday americans problems I believe the line was “feel our pain” was president Clinton whom I voted for twice.Did he really?I don’t know but he came across like he did at least to me.

Seriously though, does anyone think that Mr Bumbles, aka John Sidney McSame, has any idea of normal life? What about sucking his teeth in front of Schmidt’s Fudge House… where he appeared before 20 people and moaned about Obama seeming to take a victory lap.
McCain did some noble things 40 years ago. Since then, he’s been playing that for all it’s worth. He’s never lived off government health care. He graduated near the bottom of his class and seems determined to live up to that with this fumbling campaign. He abandoned nearly every ‘maverick’ position he held in 2000 to get the rightwing and even then they don’t love him.
Kinda sad to see Grandpa stumble around. If Obama were white, he’d be ahead by 20 points by now.
Bootz thinks there’s a danger the economy could go downhill. He writes to newspapers. Apparently he doesn’t read them.

Pelosi and Reid are bad.They are so entrenched and partisan that not much bi-partisan legislation can even be drafted.Bills pass now out of desperation because anything is better than noting.. That was a big caveat with H Clinton; she would have fit right into the Pelosi-Reid way of doing things,imo..The process of government has been short-circuited and Dems too have to clean house,and it’s never been common for the winning side to start an internal purge of itself.
Obama talks the talk,but he may lose because not enough voters will believe he will be different,in any positive way that is,and unless Dems get better congressional leadership it may not matter how ‘good’ Obama is.
Obama’s biggest obstacle is that he is Black and exotic. He’s just too damned exotic in the wrong way. I watched Fox news 24/7 with my family the last 3 weeks and the game is to ‘define’ Obama ,but the defining must be negative or we just keep looking.
Yes, bus is standing athwart, all right, protecting fundamentalists the world over. Whether they be from Pakistan or Virginia he is there to aid and abet their views. Gorge Bush hasn’t don a single thing for Americans since he took office other than bring on crisis after another, I could list them all but there is no space in the sight to list them. The difference between Bush and Progressives is this simple: Bush wants to create a world where reactionary Jesus Freaks will rule forever and Progressives want to promote the ideals of, a civil society where all ideas and views are treated with equal weight.
