Indiana’s Fourth District Congressional Incumbent, Steve “Nuke ‘Em” Buyer, is practicing his patented duck & cover/run away (non) debate techniques. Like Mr. Miyagi’s crane technique, “if done right, no can defense.”
Unfortunately, as challenger Nels Ackerson’s recent press release reveals, Buyer isn’t doing it right. The main trick is to make it look like your opponent is making unreasonable demands or that nobody is interested. Ackerson has indicated a great deal of flexibility as to format and, more importantly, several organizations have offered to host the debates, including:
# WILO Frankfort
# Frankfort Chamber of Commerce
# Frankfort Times
# The Purdue University Student Government
# Veterans of Foreign Wars, Crawfordsville
# Hendricks County Farm Bureau
# Disabled American Veterans, Lafayette
Mr. Buyer apparently has not responded to the kind offers of these organizations.

I hope that blogs like yours can help bring to light the real differences between the candidates. Since Buyer won’t debate, it would be great to see the distinctions between Ackerson’s policies and Buyer’s policies highlighted elsewhere.

WBAA reported that Buyer had decided to debate once at the Hendricks Co Farm Bureau.. I assume he thinks that’s safe territory.and a small crowd
