In Indiana’s Eighth Congressional District, self-employed, Internet-based contractor Paul Abramson has entered the primary to represent the Republicans to challenge Congressman Brad Ellsworth who defeated John Hostettler in 2006.
Abramson said this morning that he attended the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. The annual political conference attracts thousands of conservative activists, members of Congress and other elected officials. This year, President Bush and several presidential candidates spoke at the gathering.
“I’m campaigning on the Culture War of values,” Abramson said. “Our society is split, and the good guys are losing at this time.”
Abramson will challenge Greg Goode for the Republican nomination. I’m not sure what “culture war of values” might mean, and I won’t necessarily fault Mr. Abramson because it’s often not possible to fully explain one’s self in a brief newspaper article. But, to me, the value-free phrase “culture war of values” means mixing church & state, hating gays, and loving life before birth and after brain death but not in between. I’d love to find out I’m wrong about those things.

His own official biographical webpage is amusing and tells us all about him:

Thanks for the link, Wilson! “Cultural war of values” is a coded term to let the wingnuts know that Abramson is a Christofascist, one of the totalitarian theocrats of the Religious Reich. His support of the illogical, irrational, superstitous fairytale nonsense known as creationism verifies that he’s ignorant and intellectually incompetent. “The good guys are losing” is typical Christofascist whining: translated into straight-forward language, he (as do all of his fellow fundie brown shirts) is complaining because that godless US Constitution, and the judges who interpret it, won’t allow him to hijack the apparatus of government and use its brute power to forcibly compel every American to kowtow to each and every one of the dogmas and doctrines of fundamentalist Protestantism. Don’t kid yourself for a minute; these folks find it politically expedient to give lip service to the Constitution, but they actually believe that Jefferson, Madison, and the rest of the Founding Fathers were totally dead wrong, and that Jeebus wants them to completely eradicate our entire secular, pluralistic, democratic system of government. The guiding mentor of the Christofascists, R.J. Rushdoony, explicitly taught “Democracy is heresy.”

Nice link to his website. He states emphatically that there is no scientific mechanism for evolution, no transitional fossils, and no scientific evidence for evolution. He’s a young-earther. I can safely place him in the “too uninformed to govern” category.
He also refers to Berkeley as a foreign country in his bio. What a tool.

I dont believe in your god, nor do i believe in your holy book. and i’m not going to hell, because i dont beleive in that either.
so i’m immune to their idiocy.
isnt al qaeda, islamic republicans, and the taliban engaged in the same kind of “culture war” for “family values”?
as goerge wallace once observed- not a dimes worth of difference.
no wonder the romans fed the christians to the lions. and the english gave boats to the puritans- to go away.
maybe the pagans, heathens, nature worshippers, druids, and others had it all figured out 10,000 years before white christian europe? you think?
dont get me wrong. I think we all have our personal spiritual beliefs, and likely agree on most, and enjoy a good intellectual discussion on the supernatural phenomena in the universe, and mans place and existence on earth
but isnt it fun to poke fun at the self righteous idiots who want to impose their nutty ideas on the rest of us? and their jockeying for position on who’s more self righteous?
I’m a druid. na na na.(see above)
I’m really not, but its fun to annoy the zealots, fanatics, and extremists. giggle!
