Apparently the Colts and Jeff Saturday are having a tough time reaching a deal to re-sign the long time center. I’d be really bummed if Saturday doesn’t rejoin the Colts. I understand football is a business and all of that, but part of the joy for a fan is falling in love with the team, and Saturday is one of the guys who makes the Colts an easy team to love. He has been the anchor of the offensive line that has let Manning work his magic year after year.
Saturday, a mainstay on the the Indianapolis Colts’ offensive line for 10 years, is eligible for free agency and will test the market when it opens Friday. He’d like to remain a Colt, but the team’s offer, at least in its present form, is unacceptable to him.
Hopefully they’ll work it out.

I would join in the hope that Saturday will chose to stay with the Colts. But (the ever present BUT) the excessive salaries of virtually all professional sports persons is getting as distrubing as the over inflation of salary and benefits for business executives. For any person to get more in one day than the average teacher or other professional (not counting the average family income) makes in a year. It just might be that another “bubble” is being observed and the world will crash down on them as we see serious concerns as to being able to afford to keep the Colts or Pacers in an Indiana market. (The per minute pay for play time for Saturday, Harrison, or Manning, etc…is beyond sustainable reality.)
