Jill Long Thompson leads Jim Schellinger in the Democratic gubernatorial race by about 5,000 votes with something approaching a million having been cast. The Secretary of State’s site hasn’t yet been updated, showing Schellinger in the lead 451,000 to 443,000. Lake County looks to have put her over the edge, but any candidate who narrowly loses by late results out of Lake County is presumably going to want to take a second look.

I don’t know, dude. It could be legit. My polling place, which covers three districts out of 24 in Munster, had a volunteer for JLT. In a race without strong name recognition, that can easily be the difference. Voters come in not knowing either candidate, and only know that one candidate took the time to get a volunteer out there.
Hell, it worked on me. I voted for Ron Paul because he had a volunteer there.

My guess is that it probably is legitimate and that Long Thompson will probably win. Still, it’s really close, so Schellinger would be an idiot to concede without letting all the votes come in and look around a bit for any monkey business.
