Also from a reader – Obama’s tentative schedule in Indiana:
WED – 9th – South Bend
TH – 10th – Gary and a location TBA
FRI – 11th – Columbus, Bloomington, Terre Haute
SAT – 12th – Muncie
This brings to mind a thought I’ve had for some time now. For all the talk about how the grueling and long primary schedule is damaging to Obama and Clinton, I can’t help but think that there have to be serious advantages involved in having organized a state-by-state; county-by-county infrastructure throughout the entire country prior to the general election. Oh, and as for Obama’s managerial experience, it isn’t being President — nothing is — but there has to be some substantial credit due for having managed a $300 million/year nation-wide organization, building it from the ground up in very little time.

I totally agree. My wife was just making the commment the other night, about how she was suprised that Clinton’s fundraising has not been what she’d expect, given that they (Hil & Bill) have been able to convince a lot of people to hear Bill speak for large payoffs. Are they not able to convince the same people to donate to Hillary’s campaign? If so, she’d not be lending herself money.
Then again, like I said at my place, I think the whole “Hillary Can Still Win” idea is just not much more than a myth.

That’s a good point re: leadership. Neither Clinton nor Obama has executive experience, but I don’t think there’s much reasonable debate about which campaign has been better-run.

Well, and we’ve all seen what wonders a Harvard-trained MBA with “executive experience” can do.
