IC 1-2-3 provides that a new Indiana flag is to be displayed at the Indiana capitol. Not more than twice per 300 day period, each member of the general assembly is allowed to request that one of these flags be given to an individual, group, or organization. I would deeply love to have an Indiana flag that had flown in the Indiana capitol building. I know that members of the General Assembly read this blog from time to time. If one of you happens to see this and is willing to sponsor me for one of those flags, I would sure appreciate an e-mail at “blog@masson.us”
Normally I don’t go asking for favors like this, but such a flag would really be a treasure for me.

Just for the price of the flag, your Congresscritter can supply you with a flag flown above the US Capitol. It’s available in several sizes and materials too! The best part is that you can get it flown in honor of or in memory of any entity. It comes a nice certificate of provenance too.
Wouldn’t a nice flag flown in honor of Fort Ouaitenon be cool in front of your house? Maybe your flag could honor the memory of Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette ?

That sounds pretty cool too; but an Indiana flag is a higher priority.

If nobody else comes to your aid about the Indiana flag, let me know and I’ll see what strings I can pull…

Hanging in our living room is the US flag that was flying over LSA Anaconda in Iraq the day we were married. My sister-in-law couldn’t make it back for the wedding, so she sent us a video message — and then the flag a couple weeks later.
I had no idea that they did a similar thing with state flags — that’s a great idea. Good luck, Doug!
