Mary Beth Schneider, writing for the Indy Star, has an article with results from an Indy Star/WTHR poll. It has Obama up by 3% which is within the margin of error: 41% to 38% of likely Democratic voters.
Interestingly, Obama did a lot better in the poll when asked about a potential match-up with McCain:
Among Hoosiers who said they would vote in the general election — a statewide sample of voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points — Obama beat McCain 49 percent to 41 percent. Clinton broke even with McCain, with both backed by 46 percent of those polled.
Clinton’s Indiana co-chair dismisses the poll saying “the full impact of Pennsylvania” hasn’t yet been felt. I’m pretty sure that’s nonsense. How many Hoosiers do you know who give a rat’s ass what Pennsylvanians think?
Obama’s stronger among blacks, younger people, people who earn more money, and higher educated people. Older white people with less education, particularly in rural areas tend to prefer Clinton.

“To be honest, it’s because I liked Bill Clinton as president. I figure two heads are better than one,” she said.
But she said she’s also worried that “if Obama gets in there, the blacks will kind of try to take over.” The fact that that thought entered her head “scares me,” Jacobs said. She doesn’t want to discriminate, she said, but added: “It’s there.”
Tom Cory, a 33-year-old Greenwood resident involved in video production, said he’s backing Obama, in part because he isn’t a Clinton.
“I don’t believe in revolving monarchies,” he said. “Since the 1980s, we have had a Bush or a Clinton in the White House. That needs to change.”
Besides, he said, “I like Barack Obama. He just seems a little more down-to-earth.”
I had an enlightening conversation with another physician today. He is a Republican voting for Clinton. He intends to vote for McCain in the fall. His opinion of Obama is he is “not smart” and he is “controlled by special interests”.
I also learned that the deaths in Iraq are less than those in California, and more active duty troops died under Clinton than under Bush. When I tried to point out that the makeup of the military was different under Clinton, with many chain-smoking Vietnam vets trying to finish out their twenty years in (I know, I was in during Poppy and Clinton, losing one Vietnam era soldier from my company to heart attack and one with heavy Agent Orange exposure to recurrent non-Hodgkins lymphoma–but none to IED’s), which would tend to cause total soldier deaths to be higher, his hypothesis was that the difference was probably due to soldiers in combat being “more careful”, “paying attention”, and “not driving drunk as much”.
He also said, “There are so many good reasons for us to be in Iraq that I don’t have time to go into them”, but finally offered, “We needed a conveniently located killing field for terrorists.” He also seriously questioned how many of those who have been killed would have been alive otherwise, as if it weren’t a given considering the average mortality rates of 18-35 year olds.
Just thought I would share. I’m pretty excited that his vote offsets mine. He isn’t excited about voting, because, “they’re all corrupt–but McCain less so, and then probably Clinton.”
Sure hope the NY Times doesn’t pick up that “blacks will take over” quote! Good lord…

Obama gets 47.7% of his money from small donors. Clinton, 41.8%. McCain? 27.7%. The theory goes, the more small donors, the less you “owe” to the huge donors that feel they have bought a level of service from you. McCain looks the most at-risk when looking at it that way.

Yeah, I told him about all the small donors. He said they’re that small so they can’t be traced. Some people can see conspiracies where there aren’t any, and conversely usually can’t see the obvious ones.
Mysteriously, he had all of Rush’s opinions, and is voting in an Operation Chaos kind of way, but claimed to have not listened to Rush for years. I think once some of these guys are properly programmed, they can operate independently without input from the mother ship.

WHY is the mainstream media (TV, in particular) not covering the Rezko trial; has NOT Asked Obama if he DID or DID Not attend that party? Has NOT asked Michelle Obama if she did attend that party?

Many Blacks vote for Obama because he is Black,that’s a given,but those who vote for him in the primary will vote for him in the general election,so it’s a true conviction for the candidate.
