I can’t think of any particular insights to offer, but the primaries are tomorrow. For a good number of races, this is the most choice voters are likely to get in that all too often one political party dominates the region, meaning that the primary winner will skate through the general election. So, go vote.
Also, my philosophy on choosing between a Democratic or Republican ballot is simply to choose the one with the most races that matter to you. In other words, don’t feel constrained by your party affiliation. Rather you should take the ballot that represents the better tool with which to express your governmental preferences.
I suppose that was marginally insightful.

Living on Indy’s southside I am tempted to cross over and vote for the wing-nut loons West and Walker, just to give Mitch Daniels a coniption fit. I am sure Daniels would just love Captain Bligh wannabe Greg Walker stinking up the Senate with a parade of looney-tune proposals. I probably won’t, but from all the yard signs I am seeing there is a decent chance Walker and West are going to win anyway.

That’d be a pretty good goof if they wouldn’t be busy screwing up our state in the process. Of course, it’d give me more to blog about . . . until they locked me up for the newly minted crime of immorality or something.

Doug,
Personally, I think there is a limit to how far the American Taliban can go in Indiana. Indiana is not Ohio. Ohio has always had a long tradition of morality obsessed busy-bodies. If you are old enough to remember the 1970’s you can recall Larry Flynt’s battles with the bluenoses of Cincinnati. Absolutely hilarious how Flynt got the better of the fundies and moral majority, well right up until he got shot. I also remember seeing pickets out side the 7-Elevens around the University of Cincinnati campus because they were selling PLAYBOYS and PENTHOUSE back during the Reagan era.
Sorry, like I said Hoosiers have a fierce Libertarian streak. They are a lot more Bob ‘n Tom than Focus on the Family. To many Tradition Values wing-nuts in the state legislature and the public will revolt.
