Reggie Miller has been omitted from the basketball Hall of Fame finalists. My knowledge of the NBA is utterly Pacer-centric, but are Maurice Cheeks, Chris Mullin, Dennis Rodman, Ralph Sampson and Jamaal Wilkes really better options than Reggie? Miller not only racked up more than 25,000 points; he was the author of a couple of the NBA’s most electrifying performances – most notably the Spike Lee game at Madison Square Garden where he turned a 6 point Knick lead into a 2 point Pacer victory in the last 18.7 seconds of the 1995 Eastern Conference finals.

What a crock!! It’s hard to beleive that he did not even make it as a finalist. Wonder if playing in a small market (Indpls) had something to do with it…..

Absolute bullshit! Voters for the Basketball HOF are secret and confidential so no reason need be stated.
It may be something as trivial as: “Miller talked too much trash,” or “Miller was a flop artist,” or “I’m a Knicks fan.”

Dude, the Spike Lee game is still in my nightmares! (former Knicks fan here).
I don’t begrudge the man. It is undeniable that he was one of the best, it was unfortunate for him that he played in the Jordan era, and was overshadowed because of it (even though the Spike Lee game was during Jordan’s “retirement”).

I certainly don’t think most Knicks fans would still hold a grudge after all these years…Even Spike has gotten over it.
The point is, Reggie should at least have made the list of finalists for this year’s somewhat weak class.

I’m not even a Pacers fan, and I think that is a travesty. For a decent ranking ( a little too favorable to new players, but decent), please see here.

Reggie is 34th. Wilkes = 167. However, Robert Horry has an actual shot of making the basketball HOF. In any other sport, that type of achievement would be laughed at.
Personally, I think Reggie should be #1, Rodman = #2, and maybe Mullin #3. The other finalists should be able to go into the Hall of Fame, too. They just need to buy a ticket first.
