Senator Arnold has introduced SB 2 which requires each superintendent of schools to file for approval a policy concerning safe usage of the Internet by children (presumably children at the superintendent’s school — though this is not stated in the legislation).
No guidance is given to the state superintendent with respect to the criteria under which the policies ought to be approved. Every two years, the state superintendent is to file a report with legislative council.
I’m not opposed to safe Internet usage by kids, but this strikes me as more school bureaucracy with limited benefits.
