SB 4 – Suicide Prevention Training for School Personnel

This might be necessary, but it looks like a continuation of the ongoing process of turning our teachers into social workers. SB 4 provides for the development of programs to educate teachers about child suicide and requires teachers to receive training on suicide prevention and the recognition of signs that a student may be considering suicide. Beginning in 2013, a teacher can’t get a license without providing evidence of having received such training.
