Tom DeLay (via Opening Arguments):
Explaining that Obama clinching the Democratic nomination is a good thing for John McCain, DeLay said Obama’s “weakness†is that “nobody knows him.â€
“And if McCain does not define him as what he is — hey, I have said publicly, and I will again, that unless he proves me wrong, he is a Marxist,†DeLay said.
Disgraced criminal Tom DeLay should not be allowed to open his fucking yap until he’s completed seving his time in prison.
Tom Delay, indicted Republican: “Unless he proves me wrong, [Obama] is a Marxist.”
Maru, undicted (as of now) blogger: “Unless he proves me wrong, Tom DeLay is a raging pedophile and sheep-fucker who has more than 500 bodies buried at his estate in Texas and can’t get it up unless he sees pics of Mitch McConnell blowing goats in stiletto shoes. The goats, too.”
Advantage: Maru.
What McCain really needs is for the GOP establishment of the past seven years to disappear so that people can pretend that mavericky St. John would be taking over the federal government in a vacuum rather than in conjunction with many of the same people who have made such a hash of things over the past seven years. I have a number of disagreements with McCain’s policies, an eternal struggle in Iraq foremost, but my biggest problem with McCain is that party loyalty will keep him from cleaning out the stables where Bush, et. al, have installed loyal ideologues instead of competent bureaucrats. (And, I would suggest that an ideological belief that “competent bureaucrat” constitutes an oxymoron is a major impediment to an ability to appoint competent individuals to government positions.)
