Erika Smith has an article on GenCon 2008 which is coming to Indianapolis today. It’s a conference for science fiction and fantasy gamers. Apparently it will attract 85,000 people and runs through Saturday. That’s pretty big. I wonder if Blog Indiana 2008 is losing any people to GenCon.

Now HERE is one venue that the 2nd LARGEST CITY in all of Indiana keeps missing out on.
I know that we have a large gaming community right here, and there was a time when we DID have small conventions (like out NW in the whatever hotel is out there), and we have NO real comicbook shows, or sci-fi cons.
Except for the obligatory gun & knife shows (held three times a year here) we’ve pretty much got NOTHING in the way of REAL conventions.
Maybe our fair city isn’t marketing this properly.
And maybe our “branding” isn’t up to par.
This city is losing a LOT of money to Indy (who has to pay for that stadium)
Just my 2 cents.
